I would like to rebut the claims the author is making in this video. She states the race track is a noise pollutant that effects property owners, residents, farms, wildlife, and businesses. The race track she is speaking of is on privately owned property and is over 300 feet away from her home. The only harm caused by a race track to wildlife is, they stay away. Surrounding businesses support this race track because it bring outside revenue. As for noise pollution, noise is considered dangerous at 85(dB) decibels. If you were standing next to or riding an ATV or dirt bike, the average decibels is 96-100 (dB). This is lessen the further away you are positioned. This is less than a chainsaw, tractor or a gun shot. To alleviate all noise in a rural area, such as Warren County is unrealistic. This would mean, no farming, no hunting, and no riding motorcycles, dirt bikes or ATVs. All the things a majority of rural residents enjoy. There has to be a compromise! The Town of Warrenton-Code of Ordinances for Noise states: §94.02 NOISES PROHIBITED, GENERALLY It shall be unlawful for any person to create or assist in creating any unreasonably loud, raucous, and disturbing Noise in the Town limits. §94.07 MOTOR VEHICLES (B) Off the boundaries of a public street for racing or other operations which create unreasonably loud and disturbing Noises Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply This site uses Akismet to reduce spam.
